The students and the staff of Don Bosco school Bandlaguda celebrated Vanamahotsavam
(Feast of the Forest) on 16th of October in the presence of Fr Simon
Manjooran, the chief guest (former Provincial of Hungary and a member of
the Salesian Province of Hyderabad), Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the
correspondent of the school, Fr Bandha Suresh, the principal and Fr
Puthussery Sojan.
The ceremonial part of the event was preceded by the chief guest's
message on ecology and biodiversity. The chief guest then, along with
the other guests of honour, planted Chinese Palms in the school campus.
Students and the teachers took an active part in the event. Around
200 saplings were planted by the students. The students collectively
have taken an oath to protect and nurture the saplings that are planted
in the campus and to keep the surrounding environment clean.
